The women golfers at Scenic Golf and Country Club celebrated Christmas in July. Each one received a cardboard Christmas tree, which was planted at the spot where the golfer reached the score of par plus her handicap. Winners were the one who went the greatest distance before planting the tree.

Annette Bredemeyer won in Championship Flight. First Flight winner was Dody Yahn. Eunice Binder took Second Flight honors, while Betty Shetler claimed the Third Flight prize.

Margaret Sauer birdied #7. Donna Osentoski had a score of two on #15 hole for a birdie. Kathy Kingsrud and Kathy Vondette each birdied #17.

Chip-ins were recorded by Helen Trailer, Pat Colorito, Mrs. Shetler, Jan Snyder and Karen Korbutt.

Mavis Pechette and Toby Weaver won the weekly drawing.

Mrs. Yahn and Mrs. Weaver had high scores at bridge. Pinochle winners were Mrs. Trailer and Lucy Repke. Jan Galler won the euchre prize for the day.

Many of the ladies played in the Farmers' Festival tournament on July 24. That was also the Inter-Club Day at Verona Hills Golf Club in Bad Axe. Scenic Ladies not participating in the Farmers' Festival event and those from Bird Creek Golf Club at Port Austin, enjoyed a day at Verona Hills. The Match Play Handicap tournament at Scenic continues with the third round being played July 24-30.
