Mayor gives HBCH Extended Care and Rehab his proclamation



Recently Harbor Beach Community Hospital announced that Robert J. Swartz, Mayor of Harbor Beach, made a special presentation to the residents of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital's Extended Care and Rehab Unit, in recognition of National Nursing Home Week.

Mayor Swartz joined the residents for a special afternoon celebration and presented them with a beautiful framed proclamation, which will hang in the Day Room of the unit as a reminder of the celebration.

The Mayoral Proclamation reads as follows:

As Mayor of the City of Harbor Beach, I, Robert J. Swartz, on occasion of the celebration of National Nursing Home Week, do hereby make the following Mayoral Proclamation:

WHEREAS: In 1975, the Harbor Beach Community Hospital implemented plans to construct a new wing to house a 40 bed basic and skilled long-term care unit as part of an expansion of their main facility constructed in 1920.

WHEREAS: Since 1975, the Harbor Beach Community Hospital has provided outstanding care to the residents of the long term care unit.

WHEREAS: The Harbor Beach Community Hospital is celebrating and taking part in National Nursing Home Week, is being held May 13 through May 19, 2007.

WHEREAS: The City of Harbor Beach is proud of the dedicated service Harbor Beach Community Hospital has provided our senior citizens and wishes to recognize these efforts by encouraging members of the community to join in the celebration of National Nursing Home Week;

Now, therefore be it proclaimed that National Nursing Home Week is hereby recognized in the City of Harbor Bach from May 13, 2007 through May 19, 2007; and FURTHER BE IT PROCLAIMED that the City of Harbor Beach is proud to have a Long Term Care Unit at the Harbor Beach Community Hospital, which provides outstanding and dedicated care to our truly deserving senior citizens.
