New Opportunities

I have had an interest in photography for more than 20 years. Over the past eight years or so, I have had the opportunity to photograph for the Huron County Press. During that time I have photographed community events, high school sports and the Governor's recent visit to Huron County.

Up until now, the bulk of my work has been high school sporting events. I have been fortunate enough to photograph the Patriots win a State Championship at the Silverdome and I have also had the opportunity to shoot at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Today, I have been given a new opportunity. I have accepted the position of Sports Editor for the Press. I haven't abandoned my photography business; I have found another avenue to improve both my photography skills as well as my writing skills.

In the past, my responsibility was to attend a game, get a few shots and send them to the Press to be printed. In my new role, I will be able to do what I love to do, but also report the stories that develop during a game and throughout the season. I am looking forward to working with the Athletic Directors from their respective schools as well as the coaches. I will be able to watch our area athletes improve their skills and become leaders through the sports programs they participate in. I am excited about the opportunity to watch our talented teams represent the Thumb area during tournaments and win their way to the finals in their respective sports

I look forward to seeing all the sports fans at the game. If you have any story ideas or anything else that relates to sports that needs coverage, I would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me at our office at (989) 269-2893.

See you at the game!
