Inman, originally accused of two counts of assault with intent to murder, one count for dangerous weapon-carrying with unlawful intent, one count for unlawfully driving away an automobile and two counts felony firearms, pled guilty to one count of felony assault with intent to murder with three prior felonies, one count of dangerous weapon with three prior felonies and one count of felony firearms.

"Counts one and two will be served concurrently," said Reene. "With a minimum 20-year cap and a maximum with a 60-year cap."

Visiting Judge John Skubitt told Inman the two felony charges are actually life sentences in theory.

When asked what happened the night of May 31, in Tuscola County's Arbela Township, Inman explained what happened.

"I shot him (the victim) in the head," he said. "It was my intention to hit him."

"I was close enough to kill him," he adds.

After shooting the victim, Inman fled in the victim's vehicle and eventually turned himself in into a Flint Police Officer.

Inman's three prior felonies include an armed robbery in 1986 in Tuscola County and two felony breaking and entering charges in January 1986 in Genesee County.

The pre-sentencing investigation is scheduled to be complete within four weeks and then Inman is ready for sentencing. No sentencing date is scheduled.

"Before ruling the habitual offenses will be considered," adds Skubitt.
