"We kind of stay in the background but we're more than willing to help when needed," said Diane.

Diane has served the last six years on the Caseville School Board and both stayed active in school projects for many years.

"We were surprised by the award but we feel very honored to receive it," said Diane. "It really made us feel good to accept this."

The Watson's have three children and four grandchildren.

Butch Deming- Elkton Pigeon Bay Port

For the last 15 years, Butch and his wife, Jennifer, have been very involved with the EPBP Laker football equipment team, he's taken tickets at home games and has coached Little League Softball/Baseball.

"This makes you feel real good about what you do for the kids and the school," he said. "Everything you do really pays off when you receive this kind of award."

"I really like it when the kids come up to me and thank me...it makes me feel appreciated and I know they appreciate all we do."

Liz Roemer- Owen-Gage

For the past 20 years, Liz Roemer has kept busy in the OG Schools as the district bookkeeper. She's been on the Summer Recreation Committee.

Liz, her husband, John, and their three children have all graduated from OG Schools. Her youngest graduates in 2009. According to Roemer, her two grandsons are the fifth generation to attend OG Schools.

"I told my husband there are so many other people here who deserve this award," she said. "But I'm very honored to have been picked."

"I love the kids and I especially love when the kids want hugs," she adds. "One little girl comes into my office almost every day looking for a hug...ºthere's nothing like it."

Sally Adams- Unionville Sebewaing Area Schools

Sally Adams has worn many hats at the USA Schools in the last 30 years including athletic and attendance secretary, high school principal secretary and co-advisor for the National Honor Society and the senior class. Sally and her husband, Don, have three sons and five grandchildren.

At the end of this school year, Adams steps down from her position with in the school district.

"It's a great honor to receive," she said. "I know there are people who deserve this more than me but I do feel honored to accept the award."
