Fatal accident occurs just west of Harbor Beach along M-142



Sheriff Kent D. Tibbits reports shortly before midnight on Sunday, June 3, a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Alvin Joseph Bosley was traveling east on M-142, one-quarter mile before Verona Road, when it attempted to pass another vehicle. The driver lost control of his vehicle and entered the north ditch, striking a utility pole. The vehicle split and was found in two separate pieces.

Huron Central 9-1-1 received the call at midnight from a resident living near the accident sight who had heard the incident take place and had lost power to their home.

Huron County Medical Examiner Richard Lockhard was called to the scene along with Huron County Sheriff's Office reconstruction team. Bosley was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. Bad Axe City Police, Bad Axe Fire Department and Central Huron Ambulance also assisted at the scene. The accident remains open and under investigation.
