The Huron County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has an ongoing investigation into the alleged misuse of the Sheriff's County owned vehicle and gasoline charged and paid by Huron County for his personal use.

Through Huron County Corporate Counsel Steve Allen, the Board has requested Tibbits attend a special meeting on June 9 at 2 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Huron County Board of Commissioners meeting room on the third floor of the Huron County Building. Seating will be limited.

"We are going to ask him questions about his use of the county vehicle," said Huron County Board of Commissioners Chair Robert Haldane.

He added, "We want him to be honest with the board; the board has a right to know. There are a lot of unanswered questions and we need some answers."

Huron County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Gaertner has said that the sheriff has been uncooperative with the investigation; however, sources close to the sheriff say he will cooperate but has been advised by his attorney Michelle Biddinger of Cass City "not to say anything."

Biddinger has made no comment to the Huron County Press after many telephone calls to her office.
