"Proud to be an American..."

The image of these homes in Bad Axe flying their flags in honor of the community's own fallen soldier, PFC Garrett Knoll, was reminiscent of a scene from a Normal Rockwell painting. However, this display of patriotism was demonstrated by real people with real pride in their country, not simply lifeless figures painted on canvas.
