The voters speak



County residents headed to the polls last Tuesday to vote in school board elections, amongst other things.

In Bad Axe, Mark A. Krug (393 votes) and Walter J. Salens (366) were both elected to four year terms on the school board.

In Caseville, Mike Siegfried ran unopposed and collected 135 votes to win a four year term, while Cindy Hagle (66) edged out Michael D. Popp (63) and Nora Hubert (52) for a three-year term. Diana R. Kessler ran unopposed and picked up 144 votes to win a one-year term.

The Caseville Village City Charter Commission elected nine for six years terms. Winners were James G. Stahl (83), Melvin Pete Dutcher (74), Noel Perry (72), Nancy N. Moss (65), Alan W. Mason (60), Otis William Stockmeyer (60), Alice Hazzard (58), Stannette Malosky (57) and Patricia D. Des Jardins (53).

Gene Holdwick (171) and Nancy J. Krueger (167) ran unopposed and were re-elected to four year terms in Harbor Beach, while Regina A. Wruble (172), Marilyn S. Townley (170) and Cheryl M. Halifax (170) were elected to six year terms on the Harbor Beach District Area Library board.

At Owen-Gage, Daniel Warack (232) and Deborah Quick (211) beat out Michael P. Mandich (167) and Kathryn L. Seibel for four year terms on the school board, while Greg Woodke (56) and Chris Jahn (55) won four year terms in Port Hope.

In Ubly, Marc Tenbusch (188) and Mike Rutkowski (143) were re-elected for four year terms, while John Rutkowski (187) ran unopposed and won a three year term.
