The Hatchets picked up the win in the opener as Aaron Manenti allowed four runs in 6 1/3 innings and struck out 10 to earn the win, while Ethan Sisco picked up the save with 2/3 innings of relief work.

EPBP's Craig Smith took the loss, allowing five runs (three earned) in 5 1/3 innings of work.
Offensively, Bad Axe's Chris Smith and Joe Fischer had two hits each, while Manenti drove in a pair of runs on a sacrifice fly and a suicide squeeze. For the Lakers, Logan Tibbits and Anthony Goins each had a pair of hits.
In the nightcap, Rader picked up the win with six strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings, while EPBP's Kevin Dubs took the loss.
At the plate, Chris Smith had three hits and drove in four for the Hatchets, while Mitch Roth added two doubles and three RBIs and Rader three singles. Craig Smith led the Laker offense with two singles.

The Eagles dropped a doubleheader to the Yellow Jackets last week, getting shutout out in the opener and being held to a pair of runs in the nightcap.
Overall, Matt Grenke led the offense with a double and two RBIs, while Tim Schafer played "a stellar defensive game" according to coach Bob Siegfried.
North Huron 14, Peck 2 North Huron 11, Peck 2
The Warriors swept this doubleheader last Monday to improve to 11-3 overall and 9-1 in league play.
In the opener, Mike Nienaltowski tossed a six-hitter and struck out seven to get the win, while Kurt Dhyse led the offensive attack with a home run, a double and two singles. Jon Iseler also homered, while Anthony Irvine and Erik Dhyse added two hits each.
In game two, Kurt Dhyse earned the "W" with a nine strikeout effort, while adding three hits at the plate (a triple and two singles). Myke Schmidt chipped in three singles, while Iseler, Irvine and Nienaltowski added two hits apiece.
North Huron 8, Owen-Gage 2 North Huron 18, Owen-Gage 3
The Warriors took the opener as Nienaltowski struck out 10 and added a pair of singles at the plate, while Irvine homered, Myke Schmidt tripled and Iseler chipped in two singles.
For the Bulldogs, Hunter Champagne had two singles, while Brent Reil, Devin Prich and Brandon Dubs had one hit each.
In game two, Kurt Dhyse tossed a four hitter and struck out five to get the "W." He was just as stellar at the plate as he hit three triples, while Irvine added a pair of doubles, Myke Schmidt two singles, Cam Schmidt two singles, Erik Dhyse two singles and Justin Ventline a double and a single.
Offensively for the Bulldogs, James Harris, Nick Zaleski, Reil and Prich each had hits.
With the sweep, North Huron improved to 11-1 in the NCTL North and 13-3 overall.
Ubly 13, Harbor Beach 5 Ubly 6, Harbor Beach 2
In the opener, Zac Tyll struck out seven and scattered nine hits in seven innings of work to earn the "W" for the Bearcats. At the plate, Tyler Osentoski and Grant Pichla had three hits each for Ubly.
In game two, Jordan Kaufman allowed just a pair of runs in seven innings to pick up the win, while adding two hits at the plate. Steven Weber also chipped in two hits for the Bearcats.
"These were two big wins for us," said Ubly coach Jim Becker. "Our offense was much better."
The Bearcats improved to 7-4 overall and 4-0 in the league with the wins.
USA 11, EPBP 1 USA 7, EPBP 1
The Patriots jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opener and scored six runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to bust the game open. Craig Smith took the loss for the Lakers, while Tibbits had the team's lone hit.
In the nightcap, six errors from EPBP hurt the team's chances of earning a split in this double dip. Shawn Wise, Dubs and Goins had hits for Lakers, while Dubs took the loss on the mound.
Golf roundup:
The Lakers had their best performance of the season last week according to coach Charlie Henry, as they finished second in a tri-match. Valley Lutheran finished first with 166, EPBP second with 182 and host Millington third with 194.
For the Lakers, Cody Collings was runner-up medalist with a 37 (two over par), while Jacob Bouck shot a 46, Evan Gunden 47 and Brett Foltz 52.
Soccer roundup: Bad Axe 2, Marlette 1
Last Monday, the Hatchets scored their first goal against the Red Raiders on a 25 yard penalty kick by Katie Essian. Bad Axe got their second score when Allyson Mattice passed to Jennifer Morneau, who headed the ball in.
Sara Thoms picked up in the win in goal with 11 saves.
EPBP 8, Bad Axe 1
The Lakers improved to 7-2-1 overall and 6-0 in the GTC with this dominant effort against the Hatchets last week.
For EPBP, Natasha Crawford-Sears led the attack with two goals, while Megan Jobes added five assists. Julia Voelker contributed a goal and an assist, Jamie Kohr two assists and Katie Beachy, Kaycee Damm, Stephanie Maxwell, Brittany Albrecht and Djaime Haumahu each added goals.
Morneau had the lone score for Bad Axe, while Thoms had 10 saves in net for the Hatchets.
Harbor Beach 6, Cass City 0
Jillian Roggenbuck scored three goals and added one assist, while Ashley Lemanski contributed two goals and an assist to lead the Pirates to this key GTC win.
Ashley Poppeck had the other score for Harbor Beach, while keeper Alicia Kramer had 13 saves. Jennifer Sorenson had two assists, while Christijiana Bender and Nina Alongi added one apiece.
Coach Jeff Hall credited Heidi Grekowicz for controlling the center field and setting up plays for the team, as well as Kaylee Mazure and Sam Essenmacher who "played solid defense."
