"After serving the residents of Huron County for 30 years as Register of Deeds, I have decided not to seek re-election for the office," said Huron County Register of Deeds Fran Holdwick.

She added, "I have been fortunate to be able to serve the County for so long and greatly appreciate the opportunity."

She said she is now looking forward to spending more time with her family and enjoying the time away.

"I am very thankful for the years and wish to thank all the residents for letting me serve them and everyone who has signed my nominating petition this year," said Holdwick.

She added, "I am confident whomever is elected to the position will also serve the residents well and do a good job."

For anyone interested in running for an elected County position, the deadline to file with the Huron County Clerk's Office is May 13 at 4 p.m. "We have packets made up with everything they need to know," said Huron County Clerk Peggy Koehler
