Despite a .776 winning percentage, three trips to the State Finals (two state titles), winning Regional Coach of the Year in 2005 and being selected as an All State Coach of the Year - Honorable Mention, VanSumeren is leaving the program.

UPDATED: Wednesday, July 9, 2008 Harbor Beach - The Harbor Beach Hospital Foundation's Annual Golf Outing was conducted on Wednesday, June 18 at the Ubly Heights Golf & Country Club. Registration and lunch began at noon, and golfers teed off at 1 p.m. to a shot-gun start to begin the 18 Hole Scramble.
UPDATED: Wednesday, July 2, 2008 On June 24 the women golfers at Scenic Golf and Country Club played 6-6-6 as game of the day. That is six holes of Scramble, six of Alternate Shot and six holes of Best Ball. Edna Dutcher and Loretta Rollo scored 71 to take first place. Second went to Naomie Wichert and Karan Garner with 73. The 74 shot by Millie Schuette and Jan Snyder was good for third place. Past president Kathy Kingsrud presided at the regular monthly meeting in the absence of the current officers. Several up-coming events were announced. The annual Handicap tournament, which is match play begins on Tuesday, July 1. Interclub guest day is Tuesday, July 8.
UPDATED: Wednesday, June 25, 2008 About 80 golfers participated in the Huron County Community Foundation's second annual golf outing, held May 28 at Verona Hills Golf Club. The event also included a silent auction this year. A total of $7,272 was raised to assist the foundation with its annual operating expenses.
UPDATED: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 Ever since USA won their second straight D3 state title in 2007, fans have clamored for a championship match-up between the Pats and back-to-back D4 state champion Allen Park Cabrini. After a year of waiting, this post-season "dream match" finally took place, last Friday in the semifinals, with Cabrini edging out the Patriots 2-1 to advance.

The Patriots took another step towards a three-peat with a 5-0 win over Hemlock and a 4-3 win over Freeland in regionals at Reese last Saturday.

Having demonstrated that with victories at the GTE league meet at Brown City and the D4 Regionals at USA, the Pirates were looking to take the next step... and prove they were amongst the top division four teams in the state.
UPDATED: Wednesday, June 4, 2008 The EPBP soccer team finished 21-3 overall in 2007 and made a run to the state semi-finals where they lost to Ann Arbor Greenhills. The Laker's took the first step in another post-season run last Saturday, when they beat host Bad Axe for the district title.
UPDATED: Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Over the last eight years, the EPBP soccer program has proven to be one of the best in the entire Thumb. In that time, 14 Lakers (10 males and four females) have gone on to play that sport at the collegiate level. EPBP senior Brittany Albrecht will join that list in the fall, as she recently signed to play soccer at Hesston College, which is in central Kansas.

Allyson Mattice had four saves in net for Bad Axe.
