Stanford Doll, 48, of Almont, stood mute on charges of Criminal Enterprises-Conducting (commonly referred to as racketeering) and faces a possible 20 years in prison and/or $100,000 fine if convicted.

Allow me to set the record straight. Deputy Tim Doyle serves as the prosecutor investigator in my office. He was originally deputized by former Sheriff Mike Gage in 1997 and again in 2001 and 2005 by Sheriff Kent Tibbits. He began his service in 1997 as an unpaid volunteer.
