HURON COUNTY -- Lapeer-based JAMS Media, owners of VIEW Newspapers has completed the purchase of the Huron County Press and a dozen other publications in the Lapeer Group from Journal Register Company.

Terrence Berg, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan, announced that Martin Phillips, 34, of Bad Axe, B. Jay Rodriguez, 28, of Adrian and Joshua Grates, 25, of Blissfield, were indicted on charges of conspiracy to sponsor and promote an animal fighting venture; buying, selling, delivering or transporting animals for the participation in an animal fighting venture; sponsoring or exhibiting an animal in a fighting venture and promoting an animal in a fighting venture.
