How I nearly died

Monday, April 14 is a day I will never forget. It is the day I nearly died of a heart attack at the age of 33 and scared everyone I love more than I ever thought possible.

Sheriff Tibbits' computer and records seized by police

"The Oakland County Sheriff's Department, while assisting my office, executed a search warrant signed by an Oakland County District Court Judge, to be executed at the office of (Huron County) Sheriff (Kent) Tibbits and his secretary to seize computers and records that tend to show travel documentation and other related items," said Huron County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Gaertner.

Suspicious death being investigated

According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff's office, detectives became aware last week of suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of 52-year-old Harbor Beach resident John Ritter, who lived at 2050 Schock Rd. in Sand Beach Township.

North Huron hosts Internet safety presentation

KINDE -- North Huron Schools hosted an Internet Safety presentation where parents learned about way to keep their kids safe on the Internet. The program is offered by the Michigan Attorney General Consumer Protection Division as proactive education and prevention. Yaroch sentencing hearing starts, but will be continued

BAY CITY - Earlier this month, Port Austin resident Kenneth E. Yaroch, a former loan officer for Signature Bank, was in Bay City's U.S. District Court for his sentencing for 18 counts of bank fraud. Yaroch was indicted on those 18 counts in December.
